Guitar

Tyler Padgett
Tyler has been in love with music since he was 5 years old. He grew up surrounded by a family of musicians and specifically took a heavy interest in his father’s instrument of choice; guitar. Starting at age 9 he began taking lessons and at age 13 he began performing around his small hometown of Kokomo, Indiana. When it came time for college, Tyler decided to go to Ball State University where he studied classical and jazz guitar. During college he played in several bands, including becoming a band leader for Ball State’s Studio Band, a band compromised of the school’s top musicians. From this, Tyler gained a massive amount of experience with being a studio musician. The band was involved in several student projects as well as being a demo band for big microphone companies that would visit the school like Shure and Rode. After college Tyler moved to Indianapolis to continue his musical endeavors close to home. During his time in Indy, Tyler was in some very successful groups including the band Porch Kat, which in 2019 was a finalist in the city’s largest battle of the band’s competition, with 72 band total competing. Also during this time, he began teaching at music shops and found a huge passion for sharing his passion with others. He loved it so much he made it his full-time job. After a while in Indy, Tyler decided that it was time to move onto bigger things and made the move to Nashville. Since being in Nashville, Tyler has already been on the road with artists and is making his way into the music scene. Tyler takes a student focused approach to teaching, meaning the student can choose the path they want to take with their instrument. Learning songs that they want to learn and diving into concepts that interest them, but at the same time, making sure to hit the fundamentals and theory that they need to make them a well-rounded player. He wants the student to have a blast every time they have a lesson and he does everything he can to make sure his students are always having fun!
