Guitar

Rob Williams

Robert Williams has a rich history of guitar playing and teaching guitar. He has toured nationally and internationally, and has spent prodigious amounts of time on both sides of the glass in the recording studio — deftly handles the engineering duties on one side, while ripping a masterful solo on the other. He has acted as both owner and manager of several studios. When needed, he can also jump in and play several other instruments as a studio musician.

Robert teaches the sequential process of learning beginning-to-advanced guitar technique, improvisation, music theory and a diverse set of guitar styles that range from Classical to Modern Rock. He says, “I genuinely enjoy teaching because it gives me the opportunity to develop someone else’s skills and fuel their passion for music, while expanding my own”.

Robert has played mainly lead guitar with many bands during his music career, including but not limited to the Nashville bands Fire Flight, Elizabeth Lyons, Adley Stump, Lockeland, Built by Titan, Wyn Starks, and Future Rivals along with many other loyal commitments, and regular guest performances, with other successful groups.
He has also been an integral part of the music programs and worship settings at North Point Partnership churches and others for many years.

In the studio, Robert will be seen writing catchy motifs and melodies and layering instrumental parts like no other. He is very knowledgeable of not only on how to play the guitar, but also the gear that comes with it. He has worked as a guitar technician (“gear nerd”), and is someone who can get the “perfect sound” in live and recorded music. In the past, he has also excelled in teaching this type of studio experience to others. His goal is to continue teaching new and experienced players how to learn the guitar and the big picture of using one’s instrument to the best of its ability.
