Matt Combe
Schedule: Wed
Matt Combe is intimately acquainted with the transformative power of music—a force capable of uplifting spirits, instigating change, and etching indelible memories. Since the young age of 14, Matt has been immersed in the world of music, crafting soul-stirring guitar melodies and poignant lyrics that resonate deeply with audiences. From leading worship at the age of 13 to honing his skills as a performer, his journey has been marked by a fervent belief in the potency of words set to melody.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse palette of influences spanning blues, folk, and introspective rock, Matt’s music reflects his deep exploration of the human experience. With over 15 years of experience teaching guitar and playing drums since his teenage years, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as an educator, inspiring students to unlock their musical potential and embark on their own journeys of discovery and growth.
Driven by an insatiable curiosity and a passion for exploration, Matt’s music bears the imprint of his travels and experiences. His discography, including his debut EP in 2011 and subsequent full-length album “Servant to Son,” showcases his exploration of themes of truth and maturity with honesty and vulnerability.
In his latest release, “Holding Back,” Matt delves into themes of introspection and growth, blending the soulful sounds of John Mayer with the intimate lyricism of David Bazan. While his music carries spiritual undertones, Matt’s artistry transcends religious boundaries, resonating universally with listeners and allowing truth to emerge organically for each interpretation.
With his latest opus, “Shepherd Blues,” Matt seamlessly intertwines the ethereal strands of his spiritual journey with the raw, soul-stirring essence of the blues.
Currently based in Nashville, TN, Matt’s nomadic spirit and unwavering passion for music continue to propel him forward. Whether he’s strumming his guitar in a small-town coffee shop or sharing his music with audiences around the world, Matt’s journey is defined by a relentless pursuit of truth and beauty—one chord at a time.
